A Young Woman’s Excessive and Abusive Drinking Leads To a DWI, Mental Health Issues, Depression, Time Behind Bars, and Friendship and Relationship Conflicts
Jesse had an exceptionally hard time maintaining a job. In truth, due to her slothfulness and lack of motivation, she was out of work far more often than she was employed with a job. And when she did get employment, she had an exceedingly hard time getting to work when her shift began, she usually got less than positive performance evaluations, and she called off sick so many times that she usually got fired just a few weeks after she began working. To no one’s disbelief, one of the consequences of Jesse’s shameful employment track record was the fact that she was without much money almost on a daily basis.
In spite of Jesse’s less than stellar work record and financial lack of attention, however, somehow she managed to drink in an excessive and hazardous manner almost everyday. Not surprisingly, her excessive and irresponsible drinking also resulted in more than a few relationship and friendship conflicts the entire time she was married.
Based on her abusive drinking, it came as no big jolt when Jesse got arrested for a third DUI. When she went to court, the magistrate stated to Jesse that her alcohol-related conduct was awful and, as a consequence, he was going to sentence Jesse to serve seven months in the county jail.
Time Behind Bars To Think About The Disruptive Outcomes of Irresponsible and Hazardous Drinking
During her time in jail, Jesse was required to learn more about alcohol facts, about the distressing effects of careless drinking, and she was required to get alcohol therapy. The judge emphasized the fact that unless Jesse gets professional alcohol treatment and discovers how to live a life of sobriety, she will probably be spending more than a short amount of time in the municipal jail.
Jesse articulated that she comprehended what the judge was pronouncing but she still believed that incarceration was not the most effective judgment. The magistrate thought otherwise and claimed that it was his responsibility to keep individuals off the streets who drive under the influence and who get arrested for a DWI. To validate this statement, the magistrate listed some respected, extensively researched alcohol statistics that underscored some of the damaging effects that are related to excessive and irresponsible drinking.
Although Jesse understood that she drank a great deal, she never thought that she was an individual who was addicted to alcohol. So it was a big surprise when Jesse started to have symptoms of alcohol withdrawal approximately seven-and-a-half after getting placed behind bars.
To deal with her alcohol withdrawal symptoms in a safe and sound manner, Jesse was taken by ambulance to a drug and alcohol rehabilitation hospital for alcohol detox and then brought back to jail. While behind bars Jesse got a mental health exam for her depression and got alcohol counseling but because she received this rehabilitation as something that was forced upon her, she did not take ownership of her excessive drinking.
When her time behind bars was over, the magistrate without vacillation announced to Jesse that she would be under rigorous surveillance and would be mandated to take periodic alcohol tests.
Jessie’s Hazardous Drinking Prevents Her From Living in a Mature and Effective Manner
After hearing how Jesse failed to take ownership of her drinking problem and how she reluctantly followed the rehabilitation modus operandi while in the municipal jail, the judge knew that it was simply a matter of time before he would be seeing Jesse once again in court about her irresponsible and excessive drinking behavior. As the judge reflected on Jesse’s circumstance, he couldn’t help but think about how some individuals never figure things out and learn how to live in a responsible and effective manner.
