You may embark on a challenging escapade, but you don't have to be too outlandish. You may have looked at challenging things in the past and passed them up because of some apprehension; try them now. You could perhaps join a gym and take yoga classes. Learn to throw pottery.
Endeavors such as these will help you feel more self-confident, a little more adventurous – both attractive characteristics to others when you start dating again.
Sure, getting dumped is the pits, but you can't have a pity party for the rest of your life. Take things slowly, the pain will soon be replaced with challenges you bring to yourself, challenges that will build your self-esteem and self-confidence.
