Browsing Through Stores With Good Company.
Shopping can certainly be a way to relieve your every day burdens, often having a close friend there with you can make it become something completely different. I find shopping with my husband incredibly stressful. He certainly would rather be anywhere else but there, where as my friend and I can spend all day discussing anything and everything.
Her presence just is more enjoyable to be around because she is more relaxed in stores, and the stories that we end up telling to each other. It can leave us helpless with laughter for hours. I am sure there has been times where it has helped me get over many a frustrating incident.
I followed her through the crowds to her favorite clothing store and we shared many things about the events of our week. I ended up sharing the fund raising fiasco my daughters bake sale for the school unintentionally created. It all began with some innocent chocolate chips to be baked into rather chewy cookies.
I pulled out a bowl and started creaming together the sugar and butter. I had her pull out my new kitchenaid hand mixer to beat in the eggs. Anxious to help she had it on before it was plugged in and needless to say the batter ended up all over the place. I helped her clean up the mess and we began again. We sampled a cookie or two before packing them up.
She shared a story about her first experience with her first potluck at her book reading club. She decided to make an Asian stir-fry. She used her rice cooker and began making it with a little more for her husband so that he did not have to make himself something while she was out.
She made the food and packed up a little for her husband and debated on getting her slow cooker dirty or just using her rice cooker since it had been used for the rice. When she arrived she was surprised to notice that many of the other women there had decided to make stir-fry as well and brought it in their rice cookers as well.
With our purchases of the day tucked in our arms, we decided to go back to my place where we shared a cup of coffee at one of my dining room table sets. I am sure she enjoyed herself as much as I did. I know I am keen on repeating this day over again.
