Build A Strong Relationship By Talking To Each Other
We have hear a lot about abusive relationships where one partner complains the other does not listen. We should ask ourselves how come they make no effort to learn about what their partner is thinking and feeling. If you put yourself ahead of your partner then they are entitled to feel hard done by and less important to the relationship than you are. If you genuinely want a good relationship you should make the extra effort to try to save your marriage from a life of disappointment.
Anyone in this situation needs to look at themselves and consider if their relationship is everything they hoped for. If you feel your opinion is not important to your partner there may be something not right about your relationship together. Good relationships are built where there are equal partners who are both as important as the other. Both of you have thoughts and opinions and both of you have the right to be heard.
All relationships suffer now and again from complacency and partners who are distracted by other things in life. None of this means that it is OK or right and if you want a proper sharing relationship you must try to listen to what your partner is saying about how they feel.
If either of you fail to listen and take notice of your partners feelings and what they think then your relationship could be seriously damaged. A lack of commitment and neglect may cause your relationship to start to suffer. It does not take a lot of effort to turn down the TV and listen to what your partner has to say. In return they should be willing to listen to your thoughts on your relationship and how it could be better for you.
Building a better relationship depends on communicating with your partner and listening to what they have to say. Listen and try to understand what concerns your partner so you can both enjoy life together even more.
Proper listening requires your full attention so turn off the TV and stop reading the newspaper so you can give your partner your full attention. Talk and discus what your partner thinks and feels if you want to avoid conflicts in your relationship. Talking is cheap but it can achieve a great deal to help you both enjoy your relationship together. Listening can be half hearted and achieve nothing or you can try to listen and understand and improve your relationship.
