Controversy Over Borrowed Power Tools
Her neighbor Lori came over for coffee as she usually did once a day. Lynn asked her if John still had Clark's mcculloch chainsaw. Lori said she would look in the garage when she got home. They shared a second cup of coffee and a talked about cutting up wood for the winter. Lori agreed, John would have to cut some for them before too long.
Lynn was somewhat annoyed to hear this without Lori mentioning John would buy his own chainsaw to cut the wood with. He had kept theirs for over two weeks. But she didn't want to complain. After all, Lori thought John was such a prince. However, he didn't do much to help her around the house and yard. He seldom picked up items from the store on his way home from work. Clark was always reasonable about helping.
She was glad she had Clark. He was thoughtful most of the time. Sensitive men like him were hard to find. She thought she had been much luckier in choice of husbands than Lori was. She thanked her for helping John remember and they had a slice of cake before Lori went home.
As soon as Lori went home, Lynn started the rice in her electric rice cooker. She hadn't used it for awhile and thought it might be dusty. But she just rinsed it and measured the water and rice into it. Now she put some chicken in the oven after seasoning it. Frozen peas would be good with this. She knew Clark would be coming in from work any time now.
She went over to her kitchenaid hand mixer to start mixing the ingredients for blueberry muffins. They both had a taste for them and besides blueberries contain lots of antioxidants. Healthy food was important to both of them. She heard a car door slam and waited for Clark to come in from the garage. He kissed the back of her neck after walking across the kitchen.
They talked about what had happened at work that day. He was happy to hear she made blueberry muffins for dessert. She told him John was bringing the chainsaw back on Saturday. He thought it was about a week too long to have kept it. They sat down and enjoyed their chicken and rice dinner and the muffins for dessert. It all turned out good they agreed.
They spent about an hour playing some games on the Wii. They had quite a few physically exhausting games. They went through the exercise game they had and then quit. They grabbed plates and cake and sat on the couch to watch TV. After the ten o'clock news they headed up the stairs to bed. Tomorrow they would head out for work again. Goodnight baby he whispered, thanks for the great cake.
