Friends Can Make A Week Seem Less Stressful.
I had arranged to meet with my best friend at the local restaurant that we attended almost weekly where we have coffee and go over the events of our week. The graco snugride infant car seat announced the cooing bundle of joy she brought with her. We sat and ordered our coffee and started talking. Surprisingly enough it can be rather stress relieving to have someone on your side willing to listen to everything and not voice opinions.
The week began with our customary coffee and then I had to run the car over to the garage to be fixed. Instead of just wasting my time at the garage I decided to walk over to a store and window shop through the clothing section and get my hair cut. About an hour or so before I had to pick up my vehicle, I grabbed our weekly groceries.
The following day was certainly one of the best I had that week. I spent the day helping at the school my kids attend, helping kids read or do their math. After school had ended I picked up the kids and went home. My son needed brownies made for his bake sale so I got out my square cake pans and told him it needed to be greased. Right away he ran to the refrigerator and I thought he was pulling out the butter, instead he had gotten one egg and smashed it into the bottom of the cake pan. I laughed and told him he needed butter and helped him grease it after we cleaned up the egg.
Wednesday, middle of the week and perhaps my most busiest, but nonetheless we survived. A quick pizza while my son gets ready for baseball and my daughter for dance class. They each brought a game to play in the hand held game, and took turns while waiting for the other one to finish their practice. I was so proud of them to have behaved so well and to have managed to get their homework completed as well.
Thursday they both had soccer practice and we went out to the fields to watch the kids teams go through drills. It was certainly fun to watch them kick the ball around with their friends. I would not have missed it for the world. They put a great deal of effort into practice and when they got home they were tired. We made hot chocolate with those mini marshmallows, after which time they had to get ready for bed.
Friday I went out shopping with my husband. While we were browsing, he and I came across a gorgeous loft bed. The feminine charm it had was a perfect match for my daughter. I knew immediately that she would love it. We arranged to have it delivered tomorrow morning.
When Saturday rolled around, I waited while doing my customary cleaning, but the bed had not yet arrived. We were about to head out for the soccer game the kids had when the truck with her bed pulled in. She could not wait to see it.
Sunday came a day when we all celebrated it as a family. As was customary we spent the morning together and then in the afternoon we packed a lunch and took it to a park to have a picnic. My husband decided to take us all out mini golfing and I graciously lost to my children. I certainly could use more practice!
