Healing from Abuse: How to Overcome the Effects of an Emotional Abuse
This kind of emotional abuse is probably the worst kind of abuse. It is a form of relationship abuse that most of us do not have an idea that existed. The real thing is that even the victims of this abuse do not realize that they are being abused.Emotional abuse comprises of using foul language, saying demeaning words, lying, accusing, swearing, lying. It will emotionally and physically wound you.It has effects on women that they tend to get aloof, prone to depression and lose confidence in oneself. Most victims carry this burden throughout their life. Getting over and healing from abuse is possible. You yourself, has the power and total control on your body, mind and soul.
First and foremost, the healing process can only begin once you accept that you are already a victim in an abusive relationship. You cannot heal if you are just in the state of denial. Acceptance is the key to move on and start your life all over again. You can never heal and never ready to let go when you think that your husband has an acceptable behavior.Accepting that you are a victim, it is easier to see his faults and you can eventually build up the courage to defend yourself.
As a victim, you will usually feel guilty. When your husband manipulates you, he can convince that you are always at the wrong side of the fence though you are not.You easily become stressful, anxious and depressed. You may develop panic attack and that is the worse thing that could happen to you. Your husband can manipulate you by constantly giving you false hope that he will change. Learn to place a boundary and what is enough is enough.
Healing from abuse means you need to build a new relationship again not with another person but with yourself. Create harmony in you by loving and trusting yourself again.Bear in mind that the last person you can count on when things go bad is yourself.Be confident and realize your true worth. You must be loved since you are a woman of substance. After all you have your friends and family that love you and support you.
You will know when you are healed if you are able to forget the past and it has no control over you.The past is past and cannot be changed so you need to accept that bad things happen in your life. That is the reality though it may sound cruel. You are healed if you know that you are ready to meet and interact with new people again. It is not easy for you to trust another man sometimes. This is relatively normal. You must try to see if the person deserves your trust or not.At most time, you should love yourself at most time.Nobody in this planet is perfect. So don’t be too hard on yourself and accept who you are.
