Keep in mind that if the pain of the relationship outweighs the pleasure too much, it is possible that your union isn't worth saving. Give Your Relationship Space

Ask yourself what both of you could have done differently and what issues contributed to the end of the relationship.
Think about what made you happy with the relationship before things went bad. Next, determine what the negatives were as well as the pluses. You will know if the relationship is worth saving. While you are working through all of this try to move on with your life as best you can. Try to do things to take care of yourself like socializing, buying new clothes, getting a haircut and going to the spa.
Start Talking
It might be time to take some small steps to rebuild communication after a few months have passed if you still want your ex back. Begin by initiating a phone call. If your ex seems like they might want to talk, arrange a public, neutral place to meet.

Don't take what they say personally, even though it will probably seem like you are being attacked.
Listening to what they have to say is a crucial stepping stone in repairing the relationship. If you really want them in your life, all of this must be worked through. In the beginning, it might seem very confrontational and harsh but they will likely feel better once they get it out if they still love you. See if you can lighten up the interaction after everyone has gotten their feelings out on the table. You must be open to work on yourself for any relationship to work.
Remind yourself that repairing a broken romantic relationship is not quick and easy. As a matter of fact, it can be really hard.
Your instinct might be to cling, but if you really want to repair your union, allow yourself and your partner lots of personal space. Then, once things have cooled off, initiate honest and open communication with your ex.
