How To Tell When a Marriage is Finshed
It should be the desire to maintain a happy marriage when possible. However, there are times when the marriage is over, and this is something that has to be accepted in order for all parties to move on. Sometimes ending a marriage can be very difficult to do, but for the health and sanity of all parties involved it is the only reasonable option. Determining if a marriage is over can be done is different ways. Both spouses will be able to move on with their lives once they have accepted that a marriage has ended. Acceptance of the end of a marriage could prevent an ugly divorce.
One way to tell that a marriage is officially over is when both parties have officially decided that they no longer want to communicate. Relationships are able to grow with healthy communication. The lack of communication within a marriage can often lead to divorce. There are so many different ways that people can salvage their relationship if they really want to. However, if neither party wants to participate in ways to improve the lines of communication there is really not much that anyone can do. No amount of therapy will work if the individuals are not willing to see that there is a problem and work together to fix it. There are times when a marriage cannot be saved, and it is not healthy for either spouse to hold on to a relationship that cannot be improved.
Another way to detemine if a marriage is over is when spouses begin to live their lives as single people instead of as a couple. A sign that a marriage is over is when married people begin to live as if they are roommates. There are married people that remain together in the same home, but they are living their lives separately. Some couples don't even dine together. They wash their clothes separately. There are even some instances where spouses are in committed relationships outside of the marriage. These types of incidences do not improve a marriage. The actions of spouses that live separate lives show that the marriage is over and that the marriage license is a technicality that is holding two people together that really don’t want to be together.
Ultimately, when one or both partners no longer wants to be together than the marriage is over. It is impossible to change other people. Many people complain about the habits and the actions of their spouses, but it is highly likely that those characteristics that are now detested were apparent before the marriage. When individuals believe that marriage will change a person they are in some ways setting themselves up for disappointment. The exchanging of rings does not alter the character of a person. So when it becomes very obvious that a cheater will always be a cheater or a nag will always be a nag this is something that can and does end a marriage.
Determining whether a marriage should be dissolved requires a thorough analysis of the current state of one’s marriage and whether or not the marriage can be repaired with effort from both individuals.
