Making A Positive Impression On Your Boss
Making A Positive Impression On Your Boss
"Looking for a job these days is not an easy thing to do. If you manage to get a job, just remember the effort you invested while searching for a job. This is enough for you to take it seriously. And one way to keep your job is to impress your boss. It is a fact that jobs depend a lot on human relationships which means your relationship with your boss is also something you can work on.
So how do you impress your boss so he notices your skills and dedication?
Punctual – Coming to job early or on time is one of the things that a boss will always look for in his employees. If your boss has set a deadline for a certain report or project, do your best so you can to submit your report or project on time.
Honesty – Honesty is the best policy. Yes, the golden rule still applies. Honesty is another very important characteristic that an employee should possess in order to impress the boss. Even outside the workplace, honesty is very important. There are many bosses who favor employees who are honest to them even if this would mean that somebody has somehow neglected his job. An honest employee will, in time, surely be able to earn the trust of his boss.
Caring – Yes, you have heard it right. Caring for others will surely give you plus points to your boss. Caring for your workmates will show your boss that you care not only for what you do but also for the other people who are contributing to the success of the company.
Credibility – Keep your promise. Don't give promises you can't keep. When you don't keep your word, this will create a negative impression on your boss. Somehow, it makes you appear to be an untrustworthy person. And this is most definitely not good for your career.
Obedience – You have to be obedient if you want to make a good impression on your boss. When you are given instructions to do something, do as you are told, no matter how absurd or illogical. It is best to follow orders at all times as long as you aren't breaking any law.
To sum these all off, you should have a good character which is one-half of what makes an impressive employee. You may have the right skills, but unless you are able to work productively and harmoniously with others in the workplace, it will not be enough to impress anyone, much less your boss."
Statistics show bosses like staff who remember special dates such as their birthdays. Gift baskets can be a great gift that will surely be appreciated. Its material value may be little to nothing, but a fruit gift basket is something that stands for the warmth of the spirit that you are sending along with it.
