I used to be a cheater. My telling you these facts I’ll probably void my “Man’s Club” membership, but I owe it to all the women reading this to tell my story. Every man doesn’t do all of the things that I did and there may be other signs and symptoms, but these are the ploys that I employed.
What always surprised me was how surprised women could get that I cheated in the first place. For a lot of years, I would be with someone and as it winded down move onto the next. Although, they knew that the relationship had started with cheating they always thought that it would be different for them. Ladies, here's the truth – IT WON'T.
Change can come but just like quitting any behavior, it takes a desire to quit. This goes for smoking, drug or gambling addiction or cheating. The belief that the cheater isn’t going to cheat comes from a great line that the cheater lays out. Cheaters have considerable experience in laying out good lines to their partners.
One thing that I never did was introduce any of the ladies I was cheating with to any of my friends. When a guy is with his friends, even if he trusts them, it's too easy for a friend to slip and mention something about the redhead from last week. If you've been dating a guy for a while and haven't met any of their friends or family, you need to be careful. You're probably one of many in this guy's life.
How much depth is there in the relationship? My angle was to play the sensitive guy and make you feel like I fully understood all of the heartaches and pain you had experienced. This creates a false sense of meaning to the relationship. If your dates consist of a night of talking followed by lovemaking, or vice versa, you are being played. The true intentions of the man are sexual. If you're ok with that, then you will both have a good time, but if not get out before you get hurt.
Dating sites can also be something you need to keep a careful eye on. If you're in a relationship with a guy and you catch him on one of these sites, he's not looking for a friend. Instead, it's a fool-proof way to meet women outside of the social circle you're both in. That gives him less of a chance of being caught. If you're on one of the sites, you should be careful about the men without pictures on their profiles. You get more hits when you have a picture, it makes you wonder why any guy wouldn't.
When I was with a good woman, but still cheating on her I would often make the time with her as special as I could out of guilt. I would buy roses just because they might make her happy. Or I'd be extra attentive to her needs. I might cook; give a massage, anything to show her how special she was. It was all bullshit of course; I wasn't trying to make her feel better. I wanted to wash the guilt away.
There are some of the things that I did when I cheated. I sincerely hope that you can use them. This is part of my atonement for hurting the women in my life. However I have much more to do. One thing that you should remember is that you are special and you deserve and should be provided better treatment than what I have provided to others.
