Triplets: A Mother's Love Shared Equally
Having triplets is no easy task to manage. You can just imagine how much effort, time, patience and of course triple love must go into raising them. Many people would say that life today is so easy – you have a gadget for everything under the sun. You can sleep in peace when they are small because you can hear them on your philips baby monitor. Or you can do your house chores with the monitor in your pocket.
I remember when my mother told me how she raised her children. She had no fancy LCD thermometers to take a temperate, nor did she have disposable nappies to save her time. She had to wash the towel nappies and hang them to dry and make sure they were soft enough. Things were slow those days and sometimes I wish they were like that today.
But come to think about it, having a monitor by your side is probably the best thing that the baby industry made. Our homes are getting bigger by the day and you cannot hear your child if he is a mile away. So having a device that is potentially life saving gets an A in my book.
One can become so caught up with raising your triplets that you forget to take time to spend on yourself and to pamper and recharge the battery. Luckily your partner is a romantic and notices that you do not have energy and look a bit green around the gills. You need a break, and soon. So he books a vacation to a far off Island where you both could relax and nurture each other.
You unwind and really take in all the sights and sounds and slowly you start to feel like a human being again. Your sense of humor comes back and you find yourself being silly again. On a day your partner takes you into a quaint looking jewelry store which is probably the only one there, and asks you to try on a special ring. You are astounded when he brings out a magnificent eternity ring for you to slip on your finger.
Little did you know that he had researched on how to show a woman that your love will last forever. And on that same night he told me how he appreciated me and how he admires me when he sees how I raise his children. He says that his love will last for an eternity and that is why he chose this ring.
Getting home was also a wonderful experience because now we were both feeling energetic and can tackle life's hurdles has they come our way. One of those hurdles was attending parenting classes which we postponed a few times. Not any more, we both need to know all the tips and techniques on how to raise triplets to maximize their development and our patience.
